    if I make one installation without database, are there performances problems if I load hundreds of documents?

    yep, problem will arise if lot of users, lot of files, lots of metatada.
    Forget the no-db setup, if you don’t want to use mysql, just use sqlite, it’s super simple and just stores the DB in a file on the same server. You just require the php-sqlite3 extension.
