Does anyone know how to embed an external webpage in an iframe in pydio?

Or, if it is possible to create a new Workspace that will embed an external webpage?

If you create a “.url” file containing just an webpage adress, it will open in an iframe. Is it the kind of stuff you want to do?

Thanks for your quick response, it was really helpful.

The link opening in the iframe is what I was looking for. Is there a way to create a button up by the seach box instead of using a .url file to open the page? It would also be nice to be able to collapse the left and right panes when the iframe loads.

    Hi Tom,
This is possible but will get more complicated… You’ll have to do some JS to do that.
    E.G
    > Have a permanent readme.url file at the root of the folder
    > In JS, create an AjxpNode pointing to this file and call the modal.openEditor functions to open the editor.
Frankly if you’re not willing to digg the framework, it’s not trivial. :-/

Another option would be a dedicated workspace or button in the dashboard that will open the link into the iframe. Would that require a custom access plugin?

    Yep,
You could have a look at the dashboard driver (see access.ajxp_user) and how e.g. action.share plugin is adding a tab to the dashboard to display the list of shared elements.
Your plugin could be as simple as an XML file with the correct <component_config> tag, defining a new tab and an iframe.
Do you want to go in that direction?

What I would really like is to create a simple access driver (e.g. access.iframe). All it will do is open a web link in an iframe in the ajxppane. I almost have it by copying the ajxp_conf, but for some reason my iframe isn’t loading the webpage. Thanks for all your help!

I have my external url workspace loading correctly in an iframe now, but i need to POST the username & password when it opens. What would be the best way get them from the user that is logged in? I’ve tried getting ajxp_user and ajp_pass out of the session, but they are empty. Thanks

Hum, would you not better have a look at the editor.browser plugin? If you have a .url file, it opens the link in an iframe in the editor pane… Which is exactly what you want to do I assume??
